Green Bay 45, Detroit 41: Packers Backup QB Matt Flynn Bombards Lions With 6 TD's!

Backup QB Matt Flynn Has Record Day!

So the Green Bay Packers finished the regular season 15-1 and will next play on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 3:30 pm. They will play the lowest seeded wild card team, with is either ATL, Giants or the Lions again.

Future MVP, Aaron Rodgers got to watch from the sidelines along with several other key Packer players, some with nagging injuries: cornerback Charles Woodson, linebacker Clay Matthews, wide receiver Greg Jennings, right tackle Bryan Bulaga, running back James Starks and wide receiver Randall Cobb.

Backup quarterback Matt Flynn, making his second career start, threw for a franchise-record 480 yards and six touchdowns as the Packers handed the Lions their 21st straight loss in Wisconsin. Flynn was 31/44 throwing with one interception. Also according to STATS LLC, it was the first time in NFL history opposing quarterbacks each threw for 400-plus yards and five-plus touchdowns in a game. The teams' combined 971 net yards passing broke the record of 906 set earlier this season in a Week 1 game between New England and Miami. Matt Flynn threw three touchdowns to WR Jordy Nelson, an 80 yard screen pass to RB Ryan Grant, another one to WR Donald Driver, and TE JerMichael Finley.

Packers coach McCarthy said it was an "easy call" to rest Rodgers, but the coach found also found ways to keep Rodgers' head in the game; McCarthy said he handed over play-calling duties to his quarterback in the first half. Maybe he's got some coaching skills too!

Matt Flynn stated;"We've got the best quarterback in the NFL as a starter here, so it's not hard at all, he's the heart and soul of this team and the leader of this team. So, it's pretty easy to take a back seat and watch him play, and I'm excited to see what he does in the playoffs." The Green Bay Packers just amazing at raising "Class Acts". As for....

NOT THINKING GUYS: CB Pat Lee being tackled in end zone for a safety.....C'MON MAN! Ndamukong Suh mocking Rodgers "title belt" celebration after sacking Flynn near the end of the third quarter. REALLY? C'MON MAN! Every time an oppentant has done that this year, they have lost. So really we are hoping the next three teams do the same thing!

NOTE: Packers veteran left tackle Chad Clifton played for the first time in the first quarter his first time since injuring his hamstring Oct. 9.

2012 Scheduled Opponents: With the New York Giants’ victory over the Dallas Cowboys, the Packers’ 2012 list of opponents is set. At home, they will face the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints and NFC North rivals Minnesota, Chicago and Detroit. On the road, they will play at St. Louis, at Seattle, at Houston, at Indianapolis, at the Giants and at their division rivals.
